A 28-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at a restaurant in the Murrayville area of New Hanover County.
Jamie Michael Davis was arrested at a home in the 5000 block of Peachtree Avenue just after 11 a.m. Tuesday, according to sheriff’s office spokesman Lt. Jerry Brewer.
Davis has been charged in connection with an armed robbery at Carolina BBQ, 2307 N. College Road, at about 7:40 p.m. Monday, Brewer said. Davis allegedly entered the restaurant with a handgun and demanded money from the cashier. He took cash and left the restaurant, Brewer said.
“The sheriff’s office was able to identify and locate Davis in large part to citizens’ assistance and information,” Brewer said.
According to jail records, Davis has been charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon. He faces additional charges of breaking and entering into a motor vehicle, felony larceny, misdemeanor larceny, five counts of obtaining property by false pretenses, attempt to obtain property by false pretense, possession of heroin, possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
He was booked at the New Hanover County jail under a $150,000 secured bond.
Detectives with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office are searching for a teen wanted in connection with a breaking and entering in Supply on Monday.
Zachary Sky Matthews, 19, of Green Pine Drive in Supply, is wanted on charges of breaking and entering, felony larceny and injury to real property, according to sheriff’s office spokeswoman Emily Flax.
According an arrest warrant, Matthews is wanted in connection with breaking into a Lewis Street home and taking a microwave oven, a VHS and DVD combo player, as well as video tapes and DVDs.

Two men charged with sexual assaults
Two men were charged in connection with separate sexual assaults reported in Brunswick County on Sunday.
Theodore Pollard, 22, of Racine Drive in Wilmington, has been charged with two counts of statutory rape of a minor and taking indecent liberties with a child, according to Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Spokeswoman Emily Flax.
Pollard is charged with assaulting a 14-year-old girl, according to an arrest warrant. He was booked at the Brunswick County jail under a $200,000 secured bond.
Brandon Lamar Stevenson, 26, of Burnice Lane in Bolivia, was charged with second-degree rape and second-degree sexual offense in connection with a sexual assault on a 28-year-old woman, Flax said. He is being held at the Brunswick County jail under a $1 million secured bond.
