Katelynn Justice McCorkle, of Shallotte, died Friday, July 10, 2015, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She was 19.

Katelynn was born Dec. 13, 1995, the daughter of Kevin McCorkle and Jennifer File Yandle.

She was a 2014 graduate of West Brunswick High School and worked as a waitress at Duffer’s Pub & Grill and The Fish House.

Survivors include her father, Kevin McCorkle, of Shallotte; mother, Jennifer McCorkle Yandle and stepfather, Scott Yandle, of Oak Island; brothers, Cliffton Garcia and Maxwell McCorkle; stepbrothers, Corey and Ryan Yandle; maternal grandmother, Mary Barks, of Granite City, Illinois; maternal grandfather, David File and wife Bobbi File, of East Alton, Illinois; aunts, Tammy Larsh and Katie Cato; uncles, Mike McCorkle, Gary and Rick Cato; cousins, Ciera Horton, Dusty McCorkle, William Spainhour, Alan Spainhour, Kel Larsh and Michael Flores; and special second cousin, Owen Bell.

A memorial service will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday, July 16, 2015, at The Point in Oak Island.
