Wilmington police are searching for a man wanted in connection with an armed robbery at a store early Tuesday morning and two armed robberies reported in June.

A masked man with a handgun entered the Scotchman, 901 S. Third St., at about 3:17 a.m., according police spokeswoman Cathryn Lindsay.

The suspect reportedly demanded that the clerk fill a plastic grocery bag with cigarettes while he allegedly took money from the register, Lindsay said. He ran from the store headed toward Dawson Street. No injuries were reported in the robbery.

The suspect is described as a black man in his 20s. He wore and light colored T-shirt, jeans and concealed his face with a gray T-shirt wrapped around his head.

Lindsay said police suspect the man is connected to an armed robbery at Walgreens, 2130 S. 17th St., on June 18 and another armed robbery at Kangaroo Express, 2375 S. 17th St., on June 25. In each robbery the suspect reportedly took cash and Newport cigarettes from the business.
