There were several major victories for UNCW on the court, in the pool, on the field, and around the track this past season, but some of the biggest took place in the classroom, where the Seahawks compiled a cumulative 3.174 grade point average for the spring semester and collected numerous academic honors in 2014-15.

“We’re very pleased with our academic body of work,” said UNCW Director of Athletics Jimmy Bass. “Our student-athletes acquitted themselves well in their athletic pursuits and continued their focus in the classroom. We’re all very proud of what they accomplished this past year.”

Forty-seven student-athletes achieved a perfect 4.00 GPA, including 20 in the fall and 27 during the spring semester. Seven earned a perfect score in both terms.

The women’s golf team registered the highest team GPA in the spring, compiling a 3.661 average, while the cross-country team topped the men with a 3.444 GPA. Fifthteen teams posted at least a 3.00 GPA and two featured a GPA of 3.50 or higher.

Overall, 136 student-athletes made the Dean’s List during the spring semester and 76 collected the Colonial Athletic Association’s Commissioner’s Award following the Fall term.
