Robert B. Hooks Sr., of Wilmington, died Sunday, July 12, 2015, at the age of 97.
He was born Jan. 8, 1918, graduated from Brogden High School and attended Wake Forest University before serving in WWII with the U.S. Air Force.
Robert worked for Sears Roebuck and Company for 45 years, retiring in 1980 as Divisional Home Furnishings manager in Orlando, Florida. He was an active member of Wrightsville United Methodist Church and a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite mason.
Robert is survived by his wife of 76 years, Betty Hooks; daughter, Sarah B. Hooks and her husband, Steve; son, Ben Hooks and wife, Jackie; and grandchildren, Scott, Jacob and Kristen.
A graveside chapel mausoleum service will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at Oleander Memorial Gardens.
