A Raleigh man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run wreck that killed a Wilmington woman last week.

According to Cathryn Lindsay, spokeswoman for the Wilmington Police Department, 20-year-old Andrew John Washick has been charged with felony hit-and-run resulting in serious injury or death in connection with reportedly striking a pedestrian at 9:30 p.m. Friday at the intersection of South College Road and South Cedar Avenue in Wilmington.

The pedestrian–Caroline Ashley Weiss, 41, of Wilmington–was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center, where she died from injuries sustained in the wreck on Saturday. Washick allegedly fled the scene after striking Weiss, Lindsay said.

Washick was arrested Sunday and released from the New Hanover County jail under a$5,000 unsecured bond, Lindsay said.
