New Hanover Regional Medical Center recently announced the merger of two NHRMC Physician Group practices in order to further streamline cardiology care. Hanover Cardiology – NHRMC Physician Group will join Cape Fear Heart Associates – NHRMC Physician Group at the NHRMC Heart Center – Outpatient Services building, 1415 Physicians Drive.
The merger took effect July 1, according to a news release from the hospital.
“While our name is changing, our commitment to our patients remains as strong as ever. We are excited to be joining the area’s largest cardiology practice in a comprehensive cardiac services facility,” said Dr. James W. Snyder, of Hanover Cardiology.
Hanover Cardiology’s five physicians and staff will be located in the same building as Cape Fear Heart Associates, where special testing, lab, device clinics, and the NHRMC Cardiac Imaging and Diagnostics and cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation services are located.
By relocating and joining Cape Fear Heart Associates, Hanover Cardiology patients and providers will remain closely aligned with the technologies and resources of the region’s leading hospital, including a shared, secure electronic medical record, according to the news release.
“We look forward to these experienced physicians and staff joining our team,” said Dr. James R. Harper Jr., of Cape Fear Heart Associates. “We pride ourselves on providing high-quality comprehensive cardiac care and the addition of Hanover Cardiology will enable us to better serve the needs of our growing community in one convenient, comprehensive location.”
