imgresBeer drinkers rejoice–Wilmington’s brewery touring company has expanded its offerings.

Port City Brew Bus recently announced it has added several new tours to its lineup, most notably one in Carolina Beach. That tour picks up and ends at Good Hops Brewing, 811 Harper Ave., with stops at Ironclad Brewery, 115 N. Second St., and Wilmington Brewing Company, 824 S. Kerr Ave.

Other new starting points include Wrightsville Beach’s Lighthouse Beer and Wine, 220 Causeway Drive, and Bombers Bev Co., 108 Grace St., in downtown Wilmington.

The bus is also heading out on weekdays (including the Carolina Beach tours) through the summer, and there are more opportunities to take weekend rides, as well. Port City Brew Bus has added one more Saturday tour and two Sunday tours. Tours are set for 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 to 8 p.m. both days.

No matter when or where you go, each tour includes two to three stops at area breweries–Good Hops, Ironclad, Wilmington Brewing Company, Flytrap Brewing and Broomtail Craft Brewery, among them–where you’ll get an inside look at the brewing process while sampling local craft brews along the way.

The bus provides coolers, so you can purchase beers at each stop and bring them with you on the tour.
