Police: Teen injured in Creekwood shooting

A teenager was shot in the leg Wednesday night in the Creekwood community.

Two black men were reportedly firing gunshots at each other in the 1100 block of East Stewart Circle at about 6 p.m., when a 16-year-old boy was caught in the crossfire, according to Wilmington Police Department Spokeswoman Cathryn Lindsay.

The teen was shot in the left knee cap while he was in the front yard of a home on Stewart Circle, Lindsay said. He was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center to be treated for his injury, which was not considered life-threatening.
