Walter Kenneth “Ken” Williams, of Wilmington, died Sunday, June 28, 2015, at the age of 68.

He was born in Kinston on Feb. 10, 1947, to Jesse Newton Williams and Ferdelia James Williams Rouse.

Ken was a professional businessman having owned Wells Transmission Service for 22 years until his retirement in 2013. He was currently employed with Beavex Courier Service in Wilmington.

Ken was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a current member of Wilmington Elks Lodge #532 and a former member of the Hanover Lions Club for many years and had served as president on several occasions.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Carolyn Frazier Williams; daughters, Melissa Williams Clark and Laura Ann Honeycutt; his precious granddaughter, Cada Adyson Clark; four sisters; brother-in-law and golf buddy, Ty Frazier; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, John Robert Jolly.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 2015, at Wilmington Funeral Chapel officiated by the Rev. Andy Wells. The family will see friends one hour prior to the service.
