Margaret Ann “Marge” Hurd died June 24, 2015, from complications caused by Alzheimer’s. She was 73.

Marge is survived by her husband, David; her mother; three sisters; one brother; two sons and their wives; and three grandchildren.

Marge taught in elementary schools in Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina. She went back to college while in her 40s and proudly graduated summa cum laude from Trinity College.

After living in Alexandria, Virginia, for 25 years, Marge and her husband moved to Wilmington in 1999. She served on the City Parking Commission, worked as a teacher’s assistant at St. Mary’s School and volunteered at the Wilmington Railroad Museum.

The family would like to thank the staff of Clare Bridge of Wilmington for the loving care provided to her for the last five months.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Wilmington Railroad Museum would be appreciated.

Please leave online condolences for the family at Wilmington Funeral & Cremation.
