Kenneth Mark Thompson, of Calabash, died Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was 47.
Born in Alexandria, Virginia on July 20, 1967, he was a son of Mary E. Splaine Thompson, of Calabash and the late Thomas E. Thompson Jr.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran and was a member of St. Brendan the Navigator Roman Catholic Church.
Surviving are his mother, Mary E. Thompson; two brothers, Kevin Michael Thompson and Keith Matthew Thompson; a sister, Kristine Caudle and husband Michael; nieces and nephews, Brittany, Brooke and Kyle Caudle; a special uncle, James Thompson and wife Christine; a special aunt, Priscilla Underwood; and cousins, Jamie, Tommy and Brian Underwood.
A mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 16, 2015, at St. Brendan the Navigator Roman Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow at the church columbarium.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in his name to the St. Brendan the Navigator Roman Catholic Church “Loaves and Fishes Ministry,” P.O. Box 2984, Shallotte, NC 28459.
