Lane of Oleander Drive to be closed for three weeks for sewer repairs (CORRECTED)

The right-hand lane of westbound Oleander Drive near its intersection with South College Road is closed to traffic.

According to Cape Fear Public Utility Authority Spokesman Mike McGill, the closure is necessary for crews to complete emergency sewer repairs that began last month. The lane closure is expected to last for about three weeks.

“While it is not necessary, we would like to suggest motorists use alternate routes when accessing local businesses in the immediate area, such as 42nd Street or Peachtree Street,” McGill said. “Given the high level of traffic passing through this area, we ask everyone to please be patient, slow down, and put down their phones.”

Correction: A previous version of this report indicated the wrong lane closure.
