N.C. 211 in Brunswick County will be closed to traffic for two hours on Wednesday morning.

According to a notice from the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, the N.C. Department of Transportation issued a permit to move a house from North Atlantic Avenue in Southport to Long Beach Road near Oak Island.

The stretch of road–from Long Beach Road to Midway Road–will be closed from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday.

“Because of the size of the house, it will have to be moved down N.C. 211 to the new Oak Island Bridge, through the Town of Oak Island, and back to Long Beach Road,” sheriff’s office spokeswoman Emily Flax said. “Traffic coming into Southport will be diverted through the Town of Oak Island via the new Oak Island Bridge.”

Sheriff’s deputies and officers with the Southport and Oak Island police departments will assist with traffic control.
