Wilmington-based Next Glass is partnering with a Raleigh national libations chain to offer a customized shopping experience for customers.
Next Glass is a mobile app that scientifically predicts–by analyzing thousands of chemical elements–which beers or wine users will enjoy.
Putting that data into use, Next Glass has teamed up with Total Wine & More to offer app users personalized deals on the bottles they’re most likely enjoy, according to a news release from the company. The roll-out hit five Raleigh area Total Wine & More stores earlier this week.
The brainchild of 26-year-old founder and CEO Kurt Taylor, Next Glass launched its app in November, which, once downloaded, prompts users to rate some wines and beers they have already tried. Earlier this year, Taylor was named to Forbes magazine’s ‘30 under 30‘ list.
Next Glass then compares their chemical taste preferences to its “Genome Cellar” to predict the next glass of wine or beer that each person will enjoy. Users can scan or enter the name of a wine or beer and get a personal rating before taking that first sip.
