Nancy Hewlett Floyd, of Wilmington, died Thursday, June 11, 2015, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice. She was 87.
She was born March 10, 1928, in Wilmington, daughter of the late Franklin Benjamin Hewlett and Edna Brown Hewlett and was preceded in death by her brothers Bobby, Emory and Rae Hewlett.
Nancy was a member of the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary for over 25 years and assisted her husband in the family business Floyd’s Braces and Limbs for many years. Her life was her family.
Surviving are her husband, Franklin M. Floyd (married Oct. 19, 1946); her children, Michael Floyd and wife Pat, Charlene Waggett and husband Davie and Susan Grimstead and husband Michael; grandchildren, Kady Taylor and husband Jay IV, Blair Waggett and wife Chrissy, Brooke Batts and husband Stephen, Valerie Grimstead and Lydia Grimstead; great-grandchildren, Jay Taylor V, Hailey Taylor and John Waggett; sisters, Jean Rose and Lynda Blizzard.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 14, 2015, at Oleander United Methodist Church.
