Nancy Louise Doelp, of Oak Island, died Monday, June 8, 2015, at the age of 77.

Mrs. Doelp was born June 3, 1938, in Philadelphia, the daughter of the late Elmer and Mildred Rinck. She moved to Bucks County, Pennsylvania in 1954. Mrs. Doelp graduated from Central Bucks High School in 1956. She graduated from the Abington Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1959. Nancy married Allan Doelp on Feb. 6, 1960.

She had worked at Abington Hospital, various nursing homes and retired from Grandview Hospital in Sellersville, Pennsylvania in 1980. After moving to Oak Island in 1996, she worked at Babies Learning Center in Southport as the assistant director. Nancy received an early childhood education certificate and an early childhood administration certificate from Cape Fear Community College in 1998.

Mrs. Doelp was a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church where she served as fellowship chairwoman, council member, on the worship committee and shepherding committee. Presently she was the coordinator for Meals on Wheels for her church. Nancy will be sadly missed by her faithful companion Molly.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Kurz and a grandson, Jason A. Doelp.

Surviving are her husband, Allan Doelp, of Oak Island; two sons, Jeffery Doelp and wife, Linda, of Perkasie, Pennsylvania and Glen Doelp and wife, Michelle, of Coopersburg, Pennsylvania; a daughter, Donna L. Dorner and husband, Joseph, of Oak Island; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 16th, 2015, at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor David P. Nelson officiating.

The family would like to give a special thanks to their church family for the many hours of prayer and comforting thought and a special thanks to Pastor David Nelson for the spiritual care and guidance.
