NWS issues advisory for 40 mph winds, ‘torrential rain’

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a hazardous weather outlook for southeastern North Carolina.

Tuesday afternoon and evening brings a risk of thunderstorms, accompanied by “torrential rain” and winds of up to 40 mph, according to the NWS outlook. A flood advisory has been issued for northern New Hanover County and northeastern Brunswick County through Tuesday afternoon.

Wednesday through next week could see temperatures higher than 100 degrees, the National Weather Service warns.
