Detectives with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office are searching for a suspect who reportedly robbed a Leland grocery store.

The robbery occurred at the Leland Supermarket, 1393 Lanvale Road, at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to sheriff’s office spokeswoman Emily Flax. A man reportedly entered the store with a handgun, took cash and ran from the business.

The suspect is described as a black man who is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 220 pounds. He wore a black hooded sweatshirt and had a blue bandanna over his face. The suspect is possibly in his late teens or early 20s, Flax said.

No one was injured during the incident, Flax said.
