Mary Wright Gross, 79, of Wilmington, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & Life Care Center.
She was born in Tabor City, North Carolina, on January 14, 1936, daughter of the late Marvin Leonard Wright and Idallia Harrelson Wright.
She loved sewing and quilting and was employed with Dorothy’s Ruffled Originals for over thirty years. Mrs. Gross was a member of Bible Baptist Church for 30 years and a member of the church choir. She touched many lives along her way and loved to witness and lead people to Jesus. Mrs. Gross was loved by everyone she met with many saying they were blessed to have known her.
Surviving are her son, Jeff Gross and wife Debbie of Panama City, Florida, and their children, Chris Gross, Stephen Gross, and Jonathan Gross; her daughters, Lynn Gross Voakes and husband Murray of Durham, North Carolina, and Cindy Gross of Wilmington; a sister, Beatrice Williams of Rockingham, North Carolina; and a brother, Wayne Wright of Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Gross.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, May 28, 2015, at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 29, 2015 at Sea Lawn Memorial Park in Hampstead with Pastor Paul Couch officiating.
