The school year is winding to a close, which means parents across the region are looking for ways to keep the kids busy during vacation.
Registration is now open for summer camps offered through the City of Wilmington and the Town of Wrightsville Beach.
The city is sponsoring several camp options throughout the summer months for various age groups. Nature camps for ages five to 13 are offered at Halyburton Park. The MLK Community Center and Empie Park host basketball and tennis camps, respectively, and a variety of skateboarding camps and clinics are open at Greenfield Grind Skatepark. The city’s community centers are offering full- and half-day camp programs, as well.
Registration is required for all summer camps, which fill up quickly. Click here to sign up, or for more information.
Wrightsville Beach also plays host to a variety of camp activities for ages four through 15. The partial-day camps focus on activities, such as cooking, art, theater, basketball, lacrosse and tennis. Cape Fear Cotillion will hold a manners camp for ages four to eight and Wilmington Hammerheads teach soccer to children between the ages of five and 12.
