C.B. Aycock rallied to take a one-run lead in the top of the seventh after Topsail jumped out to an early advantage, but Keri White delivered a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the frame to bring in the game-winner as the Pirates plated two runs in their final at-bat to pick up a 6-5 walk off win in Hampstead on Friday night.

With the result, Topsail moved to 20-6 overall as the No. 5 seed in the 3A playoffs and advanced to the east regional of the tournament.

The Pirates jumped out to a four-run cushion after three innings of play thanks to a Victoria Elder RBI single to put the home team in front in the bottom of the first. Topsail added three more in the third to make it 4-0 and overcame three miscues in the game to pull out the victory.

C.B. Aycock responded with three in the sixth to cut the deficit and took a 5-4 edge with two more in the seventh.

Elder tossed a complete game to record the win on the stripe, while the sophomore hurler and Hunter Bizzell paced the lineup with two hits apiece. Tanesha Williams also finished with a run batted in for the Pirates.

No. 5 Topsail faces No. 2 Northern Guilford in the east regional after the Memorial Day weekend.
