Michael “Mike” A. LaCoste, a 20-year resident of Wilmington, died May 20, 2015, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice after a brief illness. He was 60.

He was born Jan. 30, 1955, in Tacoma, Washington, son of the late Hal and Vera LaCoste.

He is survived by his daughter, Destiny Craig; partner, Louisa Trigg Canady and her son, William Preston Canady; brothers, Charles and Robert LaCoste; and sister, Denise LaCoste.

Mike was a computer graphics animator. He also did landscaping and water garden design and installation for Canady Landscape Design. He enjoyed water gardens, raising fish, computers, electronics and automobiles and wildlife conservation was an important cause to him. He was a member of the Church of Servant Episcopal.

The family would like to give a special thank-you to Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
