Dora Virginia Fowler, of Wilmington, died on Saturday, May 16, 2015, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice. She was 76.
She was born on Dec. 9, 1938, the daughter of the late Robert James Edens and Hattie Crews Edens and was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Willard Fowler.
Mrs. Fowler was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Winnabow. She worked with Cape Fear Hospital for 39 years as a registered nurse. She touched many lives along the way and dedicated her whole life taking care of others till the end. She will be greatly missed.
Surviving are two sons, Rodney Driggers, of Wilmington and Billy Driggers, of Winnabow; a daughter, Pamela Driggers Spencer, of Winnabow; a brother, Robert James Edens III; two sisters, Merlyn Edens Benson and Myra Edens Eanes; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive family and friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday May 20, 2015, at White Funeral and Cremation Service, Supply Chapel. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 21, 2015, at Zion United Methodist Church, Winnabow, with Pastor Willie Frizelle officiating. Interment will follow at the Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice in memory of Mrs. Fowler.
