Jeff T. Nycz, of Hampstead and formerly from Manteo, died peacefully on Sunday, May 17, 2015, at the age of 67.

Jeff was born on July 7, 1947, in Orange, New Jersey, son of the late Ted and Bonnie Nycz, of Toms River, New Jersey.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving wife Kay, of 35 years; his daughters, Jessica Nycz, of Hampstead and Shannon Frase and husband, Justin, of Hampstead; sons, Jeff C. Nycz and wife, Melissa, of Beachwood, New Jersey and Thomas Nycz and wife, Kim, of Wanchese; a sister, Bonnie Lea Blume and husband, Kim, of Beachwood, New Jersey; as well as 11 grandchildren.

Jeff proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era. He was an avid hunter and photographer. For over 45 years he loved Dare County and all it had to offer. The Dare County Bombing Range was like his second home, but his greatest love was his family.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at Andrews Mortuary in Hampstead.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jeff’s memory to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
