Just For Buyers Realty, southeastern North Carolina’s largest exclusive buyers agency, is celebrating The National Association of Exclusive Buyer Agents’ (NAEBA) 20th anniversary.
Until the 1980s, all real estate agents represented the seller in a real estate transaction, according to a news release from the company. In the mid-80s, a small percentage of brokers, who saw a need for protecting buyers, started operating exclusive buyer agencies – real estate companies that represent only home buyers; never sellers.
In February 1995, 175 consumer advocates/buyers agents created NAEBA, a nonprofit association dedicated to those real estate firms practicing exclusive buyer agency and focusing solely on protecting real estate buyers.
“NAEBA plays a critical role in educating the public about exclusive buyers agency and how important that service is for buyers who want to know they are working with–not just an agent, but an entire company–that is free from the conflict of interests that naturally occur when an agency tries to represent both sellers and buyers,” Kathleen Baylies, founder of Just For Buyers Realty, said. “It will be exciting to be part of the 20th anniversary celebration at NAEBA’s annual meeting in October in Tampa, Florida.”
Currently headquartered in Arizona, NAEBA has come a long way in its first 20 years, Baylies said. With members in nearly all 50 states and a province in Canada, NAEBA continues to provide outstanding member services and protect the interests of home buyers in every type of real estate market..
As the name implies, Just For Buyers Realty works only with buyers and never accepts listings nor represents sellers. This means buyers can have confidence their real estate agent is always advocating for their best interests and never trying to serve both sides of the deal.
