The Wrightsville Beach Farmers Market returns next week, bringing with it an array of locally grown produce and handcrafted wares.
The market kicks off its 2015 season from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday and will continue at the same time each Monday through September 28 on on Seawater Lane, adjacent to Wrightsville Beach Town Hall.
Created in 2009, the seasonal marketplace offers residents and beach visitors the opportunity to buy farm-fresh fruits, vegetables, eggs and meat. There will also be a variety of fresh-caught seafood and shellfish, homemade sweets and treats from area confectioners and bakeries, handmade jewelry and beauty products and works by local artisans.
According to organizers, the annual initiative aims to “educate shoppers about local farming and seasonal eating, in addition to providing a social activity for the community.”
