Two people face heroin charges in bust at Carolina Beach motel

Two people were arrested after law enforcement reportedly found raw heroin at a Carolina Beach motel on Wednesday.

Thomas Darius Jackson, 26, and Shannon Michelle Muldrow, 27, were arrested after multiple agencies executed a search warrant at 213 Raleigh Ave. in Carolina Beach, according a news release from the town’s police department.

Detectives seized more than 3 ounces of raw heroin and 1,640 bags of heroin–a street value of approximately $130,000–along with other drug paraphernalia.

Detectives with the Carolina Beach Police Department’s narcotics division, FBI Safe Streets Task Force, New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office and Wilmington Police Department participated in the arrest and execution of the search warrant, which took place without incident or injuries.

Muldrow, of Wilmington, is charged with manufacturing a schedule I controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance, possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was booked at the New Hanover County jail under a $3 million secured bond.

Jackson, of Wilmington, is charged with two counts of trafficking in opium or heroin, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver heroin, possession of heroin, manufacturing a schedule I controlled substance, possession of marijuana, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jackson was convicted of eight felony charges, including possession of a schedule I controlled substance, possession with intent to sell a schedule II controlled substance and possession with intent to sell a schedule VI controlled substance, according to the N.C. Department of Corrections.

He is being held at the New Hanover County jail under a $5 million secured bond.
