Vivian Caison Thomas, of Calabash, died Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at her home. She was 77.

Mrs. Thomas was born in Brunswick County on Sept. 12, 1937, and was the daughter of the late Johnny Martin Caison and Ettie Evelyn Moore Caison. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Martin Lavern “Bunny” Caison and Fonzi Deleno “Sam” Caison and a sister, Johnnie Mae Hughes.

She owned and operated a flower shop in Calabash and Shallotte and was employed with the Legends Group prior to her retirement. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church.

She is survived by two children, Michael Van Bullard and wife, Beverly, of Calabash and Kathy May and husband, Bryon, of Charlotte; a brother, Johnny Raldon Caison and wife, Marsha, of Calabash; a grandson, Christopher Bullard and wife, Jennifer; great-granddaughter, Bailey Bullard; and sister, Jojuan Somersett and husband, Darry.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday May 16, 2015, at Beulah Baptist Church with the Rev. D.L. Little officiating. Burial will follow at Manley Bennett Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.

Pallbearers will be Chris Bullard, Brandon Hardee, Rabon Moore, Collin Somersett, Drew Zender and Gavin Caison.
