Carolina Beach once again invites area residents and visitors to “come be part of the arts” during an interactive festival this weekend.
The fourth annual Carolina Beach Street Arts Festival, set for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday along Cape Fear Boulevard, plays host to dozens of artists from around the region selling their wares and showing off their talents. It is presented each year by Island Arts and Culture Alliance.
The family friendly, all-ages event aimed at celebrating visual and culinary artisans, features a variety of demonstrations, including a pizza toss and cooking tips, iron pouring and blacksmith techniques, salsa and line dancing lessons and a hands-on children’s art area.
There’ll be lots of live performances from area singers, guitarist and dancers throughout the day, as well as an art contest and a raffle.
A focal point this year is a collage project, led by artists Lynette Ashby and Ann Krier, in which festival-goers can play a part in helping to create.
