Delayne Campbell Plante, of Bolivia and formerly of Wilmington, died at home on May 9, 2015, at the age of 72.

She was born in Weeksville on Jan. 9, 1943. She was the daughter of the late James Stokes Campbell and Eunice Isenhour Campbell and loving wife of Roland “Lefty” Plante for 52 years. She was the loving mother of Lisa Plante Sellers (Aaron Frye) and the late Kathy Yvette Plante; grandmother to Kasey Layne Sellers and Kristin “Krissy” Banks, married to David Banks; and great-grandmother to Mason Graeme Banks.

Surviving her are her sisters, Martha Huckabee and Mila Styron and her deceased brother, Wayne Campbell; her special niece, Pam James; nephews, Rick Campbell and Bobby (Alix) Huckabee and six children, Lauren, Taylor, Robert, Madison, Savannah and Luke; and also to include Jennifer (Matt) O’Brien and children, Katie, Maggie and Abby, Melissa and Scott (Charlotte) Findley.

Delayne was retired from Mill Creek Florist and First Union Mortgage of Wilmington. She was a former employee of Sandy’s Floor Service and Suggs & Harrelson. She graduated from New Hanover High School in 1961.

The family would like to give a special thank-you to the angels who helped her and her family through the hardest journey of her life, Chris Jones, Patti Green, Mariah Kent, Melissa Tiggert and Karen Mulvaugh and to all the hospice nurses and staff who are truly God-sent from Heaven.

You are our Sunshine Nana!! We love you. You will never be forgotten.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at the graveside at Greenlawn Memorial Park, officiated by the Rev. Sam Zumwalt.
