A Brunswick County man, who was wanted for questioning in an April break-in reported in Leland, has been arrested in Maryland.

According to criminal court records with Baltimore County District Court in Maryland, Franklin Ray Lewis, 20, was served with a fugitive warrant out of North Carolina on Monday and faces extradition.

Lewis, of Winnabow, was wanted for questioning in connection with a breaking and entering and larceny incident at a home on Greenhill Road “sometime during the afternoon or evening hours of April 28,” according to Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Spokeswoman Emily Flax.

“A safe containing cash, various titles and deeds, and old coins were taken,” Flax said.

Lewis was believed to be with a 12-year-old girl, who reportedly ran away from her Columbus County home, Flax said. The girl was found May 1 and returned to her family, according to the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office.
