Sid Bowman died with peace and grace on Tuesday, May 5, 2015.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ida Mae; son, Brad (Kathy), of Smithville, Missouri; daughter, Cindy (Ike) Schreibman, of Barrington Lakes, Illinois; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Jack (Sarah), of Baltimore, Maryland; and several nieces and nephews in the Maryland and Delaware area.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John David and Naomi Bowman, and a brother, John David.
Sid was born in Hagerstown, Maryland, on May 25, 1935. He received his bachelor’s degree from University of Maryland and had a long career in computer and computer software sales. He married Ida Mae Neff in December 1955. Sid and Ida lived in several locations across the United States throughout their married life and retired in Ocean City, Maryland, originally and ultimately in Wilmington.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 2015, at Harbor United Methodist Church, 4853 Masonboro Loop Road, Wilmington.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society. You can leave donations made out to the American Cancer Society at the church, or you can mail your donation to the American Cancer Society, 2202 Wrightsville Ave., Suite 111, Wilmington, NC 28403.
He leaves us rich in stories, knowledge and so many beautiful memories.
