David Edward White, of Wilmington, died Sunday, May 3, 2015, at the age of 35.
David was born June 28, 1979, in Raleigh, son of William “Buddy” Worth White III, of Wrightsville Beach, and Jane Goodwin Harkness, of Leland. His paternal grandfather, William W. White, preceded him in death.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his stepfather, Kenneth Bradley Harkness; sister, Laura W. Miller (Phillip); nieces, Ella L. Miller and Avery J. Miller; paternal grandmother, Nancy S. Mann; maternal grandparents, Otho “Chris” and Gladys Goodwin; uncles, Joel M. White (Lori) and Matt R. White; and aunts, Elizabeth J. White and Jennifer G. Rakes (Dexter).
David was remarkable in so many ways. He touched many people during his time here with us. He was a very respectful and caring man. David was happiest around the water, loved the sunshine, boating and summer. David loved his God. He loved his pets and most of all, loved his family. It is always hard to say “good-bye,” so as we say “so-long” we will remember David through the many people still left behind whose lives he touched. We will miss you David, but we will always remember you with respect, admiration and most of all, love!
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at Wrightsville Beach. Further details to be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David’s memory to Port City Community Church Benevolent Fund, 250 Vision Drive, Wilmington, NC 28403.
Please leave online condolences for the family at Andrews Mortuary.
