Hoggard 10     South Brunswick 0

Julian Blackburn tossed a five inning no-hitter to help guide Hoggard in a 10-0 win over South Brunswick to move on in the conference tournament.

The Vikings earned a two-seed in the three-day event after placing second in the regular season standings.

Hoggard improved to 15-7 overall and play New Hanover on Tuesday.

With the game tied in the bottom of the seventh, New Hanover scratched one across the board on a long bunt single to bring home the game-winner as the Wildcats picked up a 5-4 walk-off win on Monday.

The Bucs erased an early run deficit with a four-run third before New Hanover tied it at four in the fourth.

Cory Everett went 3-for-4 with two doubles atop the Wildcats lineup, while Max Johnson added three hits in the victory. Garrett Walston and Lambert Long also added two hits apiece.

Ryan Chavis paced Laney with two hits and Troy Cruse drove in three with a double.

Adam Pecoraro allowed three hits over four innings of scoreless relief to earn the win.

New Hanover plays at Hoggard in round two of the tournament on Tuesday.

West Brunswick 7    Ashley 1

Fourth-seeded West Brunswick broke open a two-run game with four runs in the bottom of the sixth to get a 7-1 win at home over fifth-seeded Ashley on Tuesday.

Brett Babson struck out eight over six strong innings and allowed one run on two hits. Hunter Ashburn set the tone in the leadoff spot with three hits, three RBIs, a run scored and two stolen bases, while Grey Cheers finished with a triple and three runs scored. Tyler Stanley also got on base three times with three walks.

The Trojans carried a 3-0 lead into the fourth when Ashley got one back in the fifth.

West Brunswick heads to Hampstead for a date with top-seeded Topsail on Tuesday.

Laney moved to 15-7 on the year and face West Brunswick in round two on Tuesday.

West Brunswick 14     South Brunswick 1

McKenzie Benton hit a three-run home run to spark West Brunswick in a 14-1 rout over South Brunswick. The Trojans take on Laney in round two of the conference tournament on Tuesday.

West Brunswick improved to 16-4 overall after finishing in third-place during the regular season.

North Brunswick 10  Northside 0 

North Brunswick improved to 8-1 in league play following a 10-0 shutout over Northside on Monday.

Kasey Klutz struck out 12 in five innings on the stripe, while Klutz, Stacy Fodrie,Preston Ellenburg and Raven Freeman had two hits apiece. Ellenburg homered, doubled and drove in three. Fodrie had a double, triple, two runs batted in and two runs scored.
