One adult and two children were taken to the hospital Tuesday morning after a car collided with a school bus.

According to a spokeswoman for New Hanover County Schools, the collision occurred at approximately 7:10 a.m., when a vehicle rear-ended the Wrightsboro Elementary school bus in the 1800 block of North Kerr Avenue.

The bus driver and her two children did not suffer serious injuries but were taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure, the spokeswoman said. No one else was on the bus at the time of the collision.

No charges were filed in the accident, according to Wilmington Police Department Spokeswoman Cathryn Lindsay.
