The Port City has been deemed one of the best places in the country to launch a small business.

That’s according to personal finance website NerdWallet, which recently placed Wilmington second–just under Boulder, Colorado–on its top 10 list of prime U.S. locations for independent entrepreneurship.

In compiling the list, NerdWallet evaluated 183 metropolitan areas with 15,000 or more businesses and populations over 250,000, using six metrics to evaluate businesses’ success in each city and the strength of the overall economy in the surrounding areas.

With the smallest population on the list, Wilmington actually has the highest volume of businesses, NerdWallet found. The Port City has 15 for every 100 people. Nearly 900 of those businesses are located downtown, the site pointed out, throwing a nod to craft brewery Flytrap Brewing.

Others to make the top 10 list include the Bridgeport-Stamford-Norwalk area of Connecticut, Portland, Maine, and Green Bay, Wisconsin.
