Ciro “Jerry” Joseph Della Bella, of Hampstead, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on April 29, 2015. He was 69.

He was born in Hackensack, New Jersey on Feb. 10, 1946, son of the late Pasquale Della Bella and Stella Dlugokencka Della Bella. Prior to moving to North Carolina in 2006, he was a lifelong resident of Montvale, New Jersey.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Wanda Babcock Della Bella; his son, Jay Della Bella and wife, Jennifer; his daughter, Jennifer Lopez and husband, Vincent; grandchildren, Ava and Nicholas Lopez and Darren Meunier, all of Hampstead; and his sisters, Susan Friscoe, of Wanaque, New Jersey and Patricia Della Bella, of Closter, New Jersey. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Helen Della Bella.

Jerry retired from ThyssenKrupp Elevator in 2006. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors – Local One, life member of the New Jersey State Firemen’s Association, member of the New Jersey-New York Firemen’s Association and was a volunteer for over 40 years with the Montvale Fire Department.

In North Carolina: Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2015, at Andrews Mortuary in Hampstead with a service following at 7 p.m.

In New Jersey: A memorial service will be held from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 2015, at Becker Funeral Home in Westwood.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
