Detectives with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office are searching for a man wanted for questioning in a recent break-in reported in Leland.

The man wanted for questioning–20-year-old Franklin Ray Lewis of Winnabow–is possibly with a 12-year-old girl, who reportedly ran away from her Columbus County home, according to sheriff’s office spokeswoman Emily Flax.

“Lewis is wanted for questioning in connection with a breaking and entering and larceny incident hat occurred at a home on Greenhill Road sometime during the afternoon or evening hours of April 28,” Flax said. “A safe containing cash, various titles and deeds, and old coins were taken.”

Lewis is 5-feet-10-inches tall and weighs about 175 pounds. He has brown eyes and brown hair. A description of the girl was not immediately available. Detectives believe Lewis is possibly traveling on I-40, though they don’t have a vehicle description or know if he even has a vehicle.

Anyone with information about Lewis’ whereabouts or who may have seen him or the girl is asked to contact Detective Scott Bright at (910) 253-2777, call 911 or contact local law enforcement.
