George Paziuk, of Wilmington, died Monday, April 20, 2015, at home. He was 78.

George was born June 8, 1936, in Russia, son of the late Izan and Nadia Paziuk.

Mr. Paziuk was the owner, operator and C.E.O. of Bendix Brakes, one of the largest manufacturers of brake pads in the country. He was a self-made Russian immigrant who proudly called the United States “home.” His passions included his Burger yacht, the “Lady Sea,” which he rebuilt from a sunken hull and traveled with it all over the world. George was full of life and lived it to the fullest. All who met him loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Reed Paziuk; stepdaughter, Shelby Posey; and best friends, Hassan Ozbeck and Brett Schardt.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 23, 2015, at Andrews Market Street Chapel with the Rev. Fr. Jon Emanuelson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. At a later date, interment will be held in Nanuet, New York.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in George’s memory may be made to the ASPCA or to the church charity of one’s choice.
