Tree work to affect traffic this week

Crews with the City of Wilmington will removed several damaged trees at many locations this week that will impact traffic.

“Earlier this year, City Council agreed to hire a contractor to assist city crews with the removal of 50 trees that were severely damaged following ice storms that impacted our area in 2014 and 2015,” Wilmington City Spokeswoman Malissa Talbert said. “The trees presented a safety hazard and were scheduled for removal.”

Areas that will be affected include:

  • 200 block Tennessee Ave.
  • 4200 block Wrightsville Ave.
  • 4800 block Park Ave.
  • 1000 block S. 12th St.
  • 200 block N. 25th St.
  • 211 Queen St.
  • 1100 block Chestnut St.
  • 1000 block Bonham St.
  • 100 block S. Fourth St.
  • 300 block S. 17th St.
  • 200 block N. Seventh St.
  • 600 block Grace St.
