The top four players for Laney edged West Brunswick by three strokes to earn its second straight Mideastern Conference match as Samuel Young finished with a one-over-par 73, one shot back from the Trojan’s Landon Patterson, who topped the individual leader board after firing an even round on the Par 72,  6,418 yard layout at Pine Valley Country Club on Monday.

Haden Bubel placed third to contribute in the winning effort with an eight-over 80 for the Bucs, while Jackson Young posted an 81 to match Tucker Vaughn and Drew Boyer from West Brunswick. Alex Jones (87) then finished two shots better than Dylan Howard to secure the three-shot win.

Patterson and Young were the only two golfers to close in the 70s. The field also saw 10 others shoot 85 or lower, with three players at bogey golf or better. Samuel Jarden led Hoggard with an 88. Xavier Williams shot 83 for South Brunswick and Jack Sandlin hit 82 to help pace New Hanover.
