Hazel S. Jarvis, 97, made all of her own clothing

Hazel S. Jarvis died peacefully on April 20, 2015, in Wilmington. She was a fruitful 97 years old.

She grew up in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania and lived most of her adult life in Berwyn, Pennsylvania. She worked as a secretary at Philadelphia National Bank where she met her husband, the late Lincoln M. Jarvis. She was a secretary at Carson Petit Mercedes Benz dealership in Devon, Pennsylvania. She also worked many years at Paoli Pharmacy.

She loved to ballroom dance and play cards and she was a pro bowler and instructor. She made ALL her own clothes and knit many a sweater for her two daughters. She could really tell a joke in her day. She was a funny lady.

She is survived by daughters, Jan Jarvis Gouck and Linda Jarvis Kochan; grandchildren, Jessi Wall Morris, Adam Wall, Jason Wall, Holly Gouck and Michelle Kochan Houser; and eight great-grandchildren.

A very special thank-you to her wonderful, loving caregivers who are a blessing to us and enabled us to keep her in her home these past five years.

A small family service is being held.
