Loretta Denise Leviner Williams, 49, used ‘God-given talent for art’ for pencil drawings

Loretta Denise Leviner Williams, of Burgaw, died peacefully Sunday, April 19, 2015, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center surrounded with love by her family. She was 49.

She was born Feb. 1, 1966, in Chesterfield, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Neal Leviner and Elsie Hatcher Leviner Brown.

Loretta is survived by her beloved family: her husband of 30 years, Steven “Steve” Eugene Williams; son, Steven “Bop” Williams II; sisters, Samantha “Sami” Tunstall and Evelyn Wright; nephew, Christopher “Monk” Savory; and many extended family including nieces, nephews and cousins.

Loretta was a free spirit who loved with all of her heart. She was a devoted wife, mother and sister and a great joy in her life was her nephew, Christopher. Her radiant smile brightened the life of everyone she knew. Possessing a God-given talent for art, Loretta enjoyed many years of pencil drawing. She always had a hand stretched out to help others. Always remembered will be her joyous spirit, commitment to family and her zest for life.

The family will receive friends at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at Jordan’s Chapel United Methodist Church with a funeral service beginning at noon. The Rev. Bill Applewhite will be officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
