Hometown Wilmington Media teamed up with Live Oak Bank to beautify the Port City on Saturday.

The two companies, along with community volunteers, planted 50 trees on the Cross City Trail off Eastwood Road.

“As our city grows and expands, some of the older trees that once lined our streets had to be retired. That’s why Hometown Wilmington Media and Live Oak Bank have teamed up to plant new trees,” Hometown Wilmington Media General Manager Beau Gunn said. “Together we can help keep Wilmington green for generations to come.”
