Casey Golden’s two-run home run in the eighth inning broke a six-all deadlock and lifted the Seahawks to an 8-7 win over Hofstra on Friday at University Field.
The win extended UNCW’s winning streak to eight games and raised its record to 26-8 overall and 9-1 in the Colonial Athletic Association. The Pride dipped to 13-20 and 3-10.

In the Seahawks’ eighth, Zach Shields was hit by a pitch with one out and advanced into scoring position with his 12th stolen base of the season. Golden then stepped up and send a 1-1 offering from reliever Chris Weiss over the wall in left center for the two run lead.
Reliever Jordan Ramsey (3-1) picked up the win for UNCW. He allowed one run on three hits and two walks over three innings. He finished with three strikeouts.
