Listen up, audiophiles–the event you’ve waited for all year has finally arrived.
Saturday is Record Store Day, an event annually anticipated and celebrated by vinyl lovers the world over.
And there will be plenty of freebies, rarities, limited releases, samplers, patches and stickers just ripe for the snagging right here in Wilmington.
Local shops Gravity Records, 612 Castle St., Yellow Dog Discs, 351 S. College Road, and Reggie’s Records, next to Reggie’s 42nd Street Tavern, 1415 S. 42nd St., will all be in on the giving this year.
Some of those ultra-unique offerings–from a list of hundreds–include a 7-inch of previously unreleased tracks from Ryan Adams’ forthcoming reissue of “Heartbreaker,” a live from Prague album by Johnny Cash, colored Frank Zappa vinyl, as well as new and remastered releases from The Hold Steady, Thelonious Monk, The White Stripes, Tegan and Sara and even Joan Rivers.
