Ira Kenneth Pittman, 86, served honorably with US Army

Ira Kenneth Pittman, of Wilmington, died Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at home. He was 86.

He was born on Sept. 21, 1928, in Kenly, son of the late Harvey and Betty Pittman.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Anne Pittman; children, Della Allen and husband, Bryan, of Pittsboro, Teresa Rector, of Wilmington, Ken Pittman, of Jacksonville, Florida, Linda Vescovi and husband, Peter, of Wilmington and Jeannie Lyndon and husband, David, of Bailey; grandchildren, Alexander Allen, Spencer Vescovi, Chelsea Williams, Emory Lyndon, James Lyndon, Louis Lyndon, Garrett Pittman and Jessica Pittman; brother, Van Pittman, of Bricktown New Jersey; and a special daughter, Beth Bowen.

He served his county honorably in the U.S. Army.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 18, 2015, at Seagate Baptist Church. Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at Stantliff-Faulkner Family Cemetery in Lambsburg, Virginia.
