William Earle Brock, 93, fought in the Battle of the Bulge during WWII

imagesCAGE9BJ9William Earle Brock, of Wilmington, died Monday, April 13, 2015, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice. He was 93.

He was born on July 13, 1921, in Fort Worth, Texas, the son of the late J.W. Brock and Chloe Woodham Brock. Also remembered is his wife, Ruth Rhodes Brock and his son, Wiley Dale Brock, both of whom preceded him in death.

William was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during WWII and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He graduated from the University of Alabama and spent his career as a certified public accountant. He was a faithful member of Temple Baptist Church.

Surviving are his daughter, Wendy Brock Rosinbaum and husband, Bobby, of Hampstead; his foster-son, Winston Futch and wife, Carolyn, of High Point; one sister, Betty Harris, of Wilmington; a brother, Jerry Brock and wife, Gerda, of St. George, Utah; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be celebrated at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2015, at Temple Baptist Church. The family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1406 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
