James “Jim” Marshall Hansen, of Wilmington, died Wednesday April 8, 2015, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He was 69.
He was born on Feb. 16, 1946, in New York, son of the late John Arnold and Callie Damascos Hansen.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Lisa Hansen; children, Lori Hansen, Jennifer Pomphrey, Scott Ferguson (wife Jessica) and Kristen Ingram (husband Cory); grandchildren, Bobby Pomphrey, Kayla Pomphrey, Dakoda Ferguson, Mary Caroline and Emma Kate Ingram; and his loving brothers and sister, John Frederick “Rick” Hansen (wife Helen), Laura Haldeman (husband Ron) and Paul Hansen (wife Mary).
Jim was an avid sports enthusiast, especially for his UK Wildcats (for whom he had once even played). In the height of Jim’s career he was the executive vice president of marketing and sales for Linden Chemical and Plastics. During his last years of retirement, Jim was a mentor at UNCW for many business students and also participated in many committees at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Wilmington. He took much pride in being a member of the First Presbyterian Church choir. He was most passionate about music, his family and helping others.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 13, 2015, at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Wilmington.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to National Alliance on Mental Illness.
